Hightower grad Green plays in TCU loss
Hightower High School graduate Garlon Green scored three points in Texas Christian University's 74-48 loss to conference rival University of Kansas on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan., the TCU website reported.
The senior forward and the Horned Frogs are 10-17 on the season and 1-13 in the Big 12 Conference.
Texas Christian's next game is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 at home against Oklahoma State.
Green played his senior season at Hightower High School in 2008-2009 were he ranked as one of the top players in the Greater Houston Area. In that same season he was ranked as the 12th best player in the State of Texas by TexasHoops.com. Among receiving first team All-District 23-5A honors and All-Texas State accolades, Green was nominated as the Best Slam Dunker by MyHouston's55.com. He also played for the Houston Elite and Houston Hoops during his AAU career; Green is the son of Gerald (Texas Southern scholarship winner) and Brenda Green.
