Austin grad Walter contributes to Mines win
Fort Bend Austin High School graduate Ry Walter scored eight points to help Colorado School of Mines to its 69-56 win over conference rival Black Hills State University on Friday, Feb. 15 at Black Hills State in Spearfish, S.D., the Mines website reported.
The freshman guard also recorded one assist and a steal for the Ore Diggers, who improved to 12-10 on the season and 9-9 in conference.
Mines' next game is 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at home against New Mexico Highlands.
Walter, a 2012 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Austin, is a freshman guard for Colorado School of Mines. He is from Sugar Land.
