Fort Bend Hightower grad Matthew plays in Stephen F. Austin State loss
Fort Bend Hightower High School graduate Brittney Matthew added seven points in the Stephen F. Austin State University women's basketball team's 65-64 loss to conference rival Nicholls State University on Feb. 14 at the Stopher Gym in Thibodaux, La., according to the Stephen F. Austin State website.
The sophomore guard also recorded three rebounds, five assists and one steal for the Jacks, who are 10-14 on the season and 5-8 in conference.
Matthew is a 2011 graduate of Fort Bend Hightower High School in Missouri City, where she was named most valuable player. The biomedical sciences major from Houston is the daughter of Sheku and Giselle Turbe.
Stephen F. Austin University is at 1936 North St., Nacogdoches.
