Hightower grad Matthew helps in Austin State victory
Fort Bend Hightower HS graduate Brittney Matthew contributed 7 points in Stephen F. Austin State University's 53-45 home win over conference rival University of Central Arkansas on Feb. 7 in Nacogdoches,Stephen F. Austin State's website reported.
Matthew also recorded four rebounds and two assists for the Lumberjacks, who improved to 10-12 on the season and 5-6 in the Southland Conference.
Stephen F. Austin State's next game is 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at home against Oral Roberts.
Matthew is a sophomore guard for Stephen F. Austin State University. She is a 2011 graduate of Fort Bend Hightower High School in Missouri City, where she was MVP. The biomedical sciences major from Houston is the daughter of Sheku and Giselle Turbe.
