Hightower grad Ford plays in Texas State loss
Hightower High School graduate Diamond Ford scored 17 points, but Texas State University lost 56-46 at home to conference rival Texas at San Antonio Saturday, Jan. 19, at Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos, the Texas State website reported.
Ford also recorded three rebounds and one assist for the Bobcats, who are 7-10 on the season and 1-6 in the Western Athletic Conference.
Texas State's next game is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at home against University of Idaho.
Ford, a 5-foot-9 senior guard for Texas State University, is a 2009 graduate of Hightower High School. She earned TABC All-State and TABC All-Star honors for coach Deb Mize during her senior year. The Houston native is the daughter of Wilbert Ford and Monique Nichols.
