Hightower grad Matthew helps Austin to a win
Fort Bend Hightower High School graduate Brittney Matthew scored four points in Stephen F. Austin State's 74-66 home win over conference rival Nicholls State Saturday, Jan. 19, at William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches, the team's website reported.
Matthew also recorded three rebounds and six assists for the Ladyjacks as they improved to 8-10 on the season and 3-4 in the Southland Conference.
Stephen F. Austin State's next game is 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Northwestern State University.
Matthew is a sophomore guard for Stephen F. Austin State University. She is a 2011 graduate of Fort Bend Hightower High School in Missouri City, where she was MVP. The biomedical sciences major from Houston is the daughter of Sheku and Giselle Turbe.
