Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance holds annual awards luncheon
The Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance held its annual awards luncheon Friday, Jan. 11, at the Safari Texas Ranch.
The winners of the night's event were as follows: Business Person of the Year went to Dr. May Tape of Pediatric Dentistry; Corporate Sponsor of the Year went to First Victoria National Bank; Volunteer of the Year went to Lisa Matthews the Servpro of West Fort Bend County; Ambassador of the Year went to Tom Wilson of Reading Road Self-Storage; Board Member of the Year went to Kevin Kohl of Silver Eagle Distributors; Committee Member of the Year went to Justin Ring of EHRA and Katie Yount of McDonough Engineering; Young Professionals Division Member of the Year went to Justin Morales of Greenscape Associates; and Hispanic Business Division Member of the Year went to Shirley Jackson of La Casona Mexican Restaurant.
In addition to awards given for various categories, two special one-time awards were presented. Richmond Mayor Hilmar Moore was given the Lifetime Service Award posthumously. Moore passed away Dec. 4 at age 92. The award was accepted by his wife, Evalyn. The second award, the Legislative Leadership Award, was given to Fort Bend County Judge Robert Herbert for his efforts to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program for five more years.
