Hightower grad Ford plays in Texas State loss
Hightower High School graduate Diamond Ford scored 25 points, but Texas State lost 71-58 to conference rival Louisiana Tech Thursday, Jan. 10, at Thomas Assembly Center in Ruston, La., the State website reported.
Ford also recorded five rebounds, an assist and two steals for the Bobcats, who are 6-9 on the season and 0-5 in the Western Athletic Conference.
Texas State's next game is 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 on the road against UT Arlington.
Ford, a 5-foot-9 senior guard for Texas State University, is a 2009 graduate of Hightower High School. She earned TABC All-State and TABC All-Star honors for coach Deb Mize during her senior year. The Houston native is the daughter of Wilbert Ford and Monique Nichols.
