Hightower grad Matthew plays in Austin loss
Fort Bend Hightower High School graduate Brittney Matthew scored two points, but Stephen F. Austin State lost 57-54 to Central Arkansas Thursday, Jan. 10, in Conway, Ark., Austin's website reported.
Matthew also recorded one rebound, three assists and three steals for the Lumberjacks, who are 6-9 on the season.
Stephen F. Austin State's next game is 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Oral Roberts.
Matthew is a sophomore guard for Stephen F. Austin State University. She is a 2011 graduate of Fort Bend Hightower High School in Missouri City, where she was MVP. The biomedical sciences major from Houston is the daughter of Sheku and Giselle Turbe.
