Westbury Christian grad Shepherd contributes to Long Beach State victory
Nick Shepherd, a graduate of Westbury Christian High School, is a sophomore forward on the Long Beach State men's basketball team.
Westbury Christian graduate Nick Shepherd played for Long Beach State in a 78-69 win against conference rival California State University-Northridge on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif., the Long Beach State website reported.
The Long Beach State sophomore forward recorded two rebounds for the 49ers, who improved to 7-8 on the season and 3-1 in the Big West Conference.
Long Beach State's next game is 4:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at home against the University of Hawaii.
Shepherd played at Westbury Christian High School from 2007-10. A McDonald's All-American Candidate, he was named first-team all-state and first-team all-district. Shepherd was also named to the Houston Independent School District and Young Men's Business League All-Tournament teams.
