Hightower grad Green scores 20 points in Texas Christian loss to Oklahoma State
Garlon Green, a graduate of Hightower High School, is a senior forward on the Texas Christian University men's basketball team.
Hightower High School graduate Garlon Green contributed 20 points in Texas Christian's 63-45 loss to conference rival Oklahoma State on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Texas Christian's website reported.
The Texas Christian University senior forward also recorded three rebounds, one assist and three steals for the Horned Frogs, who are 9-6 on the season and 0-2 in the Big 12 Conference.
Texas Christian's next game is 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 on the road against Baylor University.
Green played his senior season at Hightower High School in 2008-2009 where he ranked as one of the top players in the Greater Houston Area. In that same season he was ranked as the 12th-best player in the state of Texas by TexasHoops.com. Among receiving first team All-District 23-5A honors and All-Texas State accolades, Green was nominated as the Best Slam Dunker by MyHouston's55.com. He also played for the Houston Elite and Houston Hoops during his AAU career; Green is the son of Gerald (Texas Southern scholarship winner) and Brenda Green.
