Hightower grad Ford plays in Texas State loss
Hightower High School graduate Diamond Ford scored six points in Texas State's 61-58 home loss to conference rival New Mexico State Friday, Jan. 5, at Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos, the Texas State website reported.
Ford also recorded five rebounds and an assist for the Bobcats, who are 6-8 on the season and 0-4 in the Western Athletic Conference.
Texas State's next game is 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at Louisiana Tech University.
Ford, a 5-foot-9 senior guard for Texas State University, is a 2009 graduate of Hightower High School. She earned TABC All-State and TABC All-Star honors for coach Deb Mize during her senior year. The Houston native is the daughter of Wilbert Ford and Monique Nichols.
