Fort Bend Hightower grad Matthew plays in Stephen F. Austin State loss
Houston native Brittney Matthew contributed six points in Stephen F. Austin State University's 74-57 home loss to conference rival McNeese State on Saturday, Jan. 5, the school's website reported.
The sophomore guard also recorded one rebound and three assists for the Jacks, who are 5-8 on the season and 0-2 in the Southland Conference.
Stephen F. Austin State's next game is at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7 on the road against Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
She is a 2011 graduate of Fort Bend Hightower High School in Missouri City, where she was MVP.
A biomedical sciences major, she is the daughter of Sheku and Giselle Turbe.
