Suburban Sugar Land Women reflect on past year, look toward future
Suburban Sugar Land Women (SSLW) had a busy 2012.
The organization started the year by collecting school supplies and clothing for three Fort Bend ISD schools.
Next, it hosted seminars on youth financial literacy, parental rights and how to conduct pleasant and productive meetings.
In addition to awarding scholarships, SSLW also conducted voter registration, education drives and held an African-American history program.
Looking ahead to the new year, the group will partner with A Concerned Citizens Group on several projects, including the annual African-American History Program Military Salute to be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at First Colony Library, 2121 Austin Parkway.
In addition to regular Adopt a Spot cleanups, SSLW accepts human services and tax-deductible financial resources.
