Hightower grad Ford plays in Texas State loss
Hightower High School graduate Diamond Ford scored 18 points but it was not enough as Texas State lost 82-69 to conference rival Utah State Monday, Dec. 31, at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, the Texas State website reported.
Ford also recorded four rebounds, four assists, four steals and a block for the Bobcats, who are 6-6 on the season and 0-2 in the Western Athletic Conference.
Texas State's next game is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 at home against University of Denver.
Ford, a 5-foot-9 senior guard for Texas State University, is a 2009 graduate of Hightower High School. She earned TABC All-State and TABC All-Star honors for coach Deb Mize during her senior year. The Houston native is the daughter of Wilbert Ford and Monique Nichols.
