Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital begins using new surgery robot
Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital recently received delivery of the da Vinci Si Surgical System robot.
According to a hospital press release, "the robot delivered to Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital, the first in the region, includes the latest technology, such as the single-site system, a single incision rather than the three to five small incisions required by a traditional robot. Initially, the daVinci robot will be used by specially-trained Memorial Hermann Sugar Land surgeons to perform surgery in three areas: uro-gynecology, gynecology oncology and general surgery. Additional surgeons on the Memorial Hermann Sugar Land medical staff are currently being trained to operate the da Vinci system at the Memorial Hermann Surgical Innovation and Robotics Institute, which is located at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center."
Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital is at 17500 W. Grand Parkway South, Sugar Land.
