Country club, garden club members celebrate anniversaries
The Women's Association of Sugar Creek Country Club and the Sugar Creek Garden Club recently held a joint holiday luncheon to honor respective members celebrating anniversaries and past presidents.
The event, held Thursday, Dec. 13 at the country club, toasted members celebrating 40- and 41-year anniversaries and those who led the clubs in past years, according to a press release.
Thirty-nine former presidents of the two groups attended the event, which featured harpist Joyce Dougherty. Eduard Jorj Salon and Stein Mart donated makeovers to three winning members.
The Women's Association selects charitable organizations as community projects each year. This year, monetary gifts were presented to East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry and to the Fort Bend Community Partners Rainbow Room.
The 2013 year begins with the Sugar Creek Women's Association Midnight in Paris event to be held Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Sugar Creek Country Club. The evening will feature a tribute to the City of Lights, live music of 1920s Paris and a special dinner.
Sugar Creek Country Club is at 420 Sugar Creek Blvd., Sugar Land.
