Palmer Elementary School holds Green Day
Palmer Elementary School PTO President Vivianne Villanueva led students in presenting their tree facts during Green Day.
Palmer Elementary School celebrated Green Day with ribbon cutting ceremony for new trees for the campus in November.
According to a press release from Palmer Elementary School released Tuesday, Dec. 18, "The school acquired 30 trees from Trees for Houston, which were planted throughout the school grounds to replace those that were lost during the recent drought."
Fluor resident Marco Luzuriaga initiated the project with volunteers. Students helped plant the trees.
"We wanted this to be an educational project that students could enjoy," said Luzuriaga in a release. "We began planning in the summer and were able to see the project come to life with the help of Fluor volunteers, Trees for Houston, and the Palmer PTO."
Palmer Elementary School is at 4208 Crow Valley Drive, Missouri City.
