Hightower grad Ford leads Texas State to victory
Hightower High School graduate Diamond Ford scored 31 points and led Texas State University to a 75-61 home victory over Kennesaw State University Tuesday, Dec. 18, according to the Texas State website.
Ford also recorded 11 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block for the Bobcats, who improved to 6-3 on the season in the game at San Mar.
Texas State's next game is noon Saturday, Dec. 22 at University of Houston.
Ford, a 5-foot-9 senior guard for Texas State, is a 2009 graduate of Hightower. She earned TABC All-State and TABC All-Star honors for coach Deb Mize during her senior year. The Houston native is the daughter of Wilbert Ford and Monique Nichols.
