Hightower grad Moreland helps Oregon State to victory
Hightower High School graduate Eric Moreland scored points as Oregon State University defeated Portland State 79-74 Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Stott Center in Portland, the OSU website reported.
The Oregon State sophomore forward also recorded seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks for the Beavers, who improved to 6-2 on the season. Oregon State's next game is 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at home against Chicago State.
Moreland graduated from Hightower High School, where he played basketball for coach David Green in 2007-2010. At Hightower, Moreland played in the Houston all-star game in 2009 while also averaging 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. The Missouri City native is the son of Louis and Verlarne Moreland.
