Coastal Prairie Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists presenting program Jan. 3
The Coastal Prairie Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists is set to present the Whooping Cranes and Waterbirds Wintering on the Texas Coast event from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 at Bud OShieles Community Center in Rosenberg.
According to a press release from Coastal Prairie Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists, "Dr. Felipe Chavez-Ramirez, director of conservation programs at the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory in Lake Jackson, will discuss the diverse waterbirds that winter along the Texas coastal region, emphasizing their distribution, life cycle and ecology, and ongoing efforts to better understand and protect them. Special attention will be given to one of the best known wintering Texas resident waterbirds, the endangered Whooping Crane."
Tickets are not required and the event is free.
