Hightower grad Ford sparks Texas State win
Hightower High School graduate Diamond Ford scored 23 points in Texas State University's 91-80 homecourt win over TCU Sunday, Nov. 25, at Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos, the Texas State website reported.
Ford also recorded five rebounds, seven assists and a steal for the Bobcats, who improved to 3-1 on the season.
Texas State's next game is 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Oklahoma State.
Ford, a 5-foot-9 senior guard for Texas State, is a 2009 graduate of Hightower High School. She earned TABC All-State and TABC All-Star honors for coach Deb Mize during her senior year. The Houston native is the daughter of Wilbert Ford and Monique Nichols.
