Dulles grad Mbamalu plays in Louisiana-Lafayette loss
Dulles High School graduate Bryant Mbamalu scored 18 points, but his University of Louisiana at Lafayette men's basketball team lost 74-71 at home to Texas Southern Friday, Nov. 16 at H&PE Arena in Houston, the school's website.
Mbamalu, a junior forward, also recorded six rebounds and one steal for the Ragin' Cajuns, who are 1-1 on the season.
Louisiana-Lafayette's next game is 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 at home against Boise State.
Mbamalu played at Dulles in 2006-2010 where he was named First-Team All-District and First-Team All-Region. He was also the second leading scorer in the district. Born Dec. 11, 1991 Mbamalu is the son of Helen Mbamalu. Political science major from Houston 6-foot, 2-inch sophomore forward.
