FBISD middle schools raise funds through VolleyPink Project

The Fort Bend Independent Independent School District raised more than $800 from the VolleyPink Project.
The Crockett Middle School and Sugar Land Middle School girls volleyball teamsĀ combined int he fundraising venture, which was held to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The teams raised $815 for the Fort Bend Junior Service League.
The annual fundraising event featured teams and coaches collecting donations and change during lunch times at the school for 10 days during the month of October. The goal is to expand the project to other Fort Bend ISD middle schools.
According to a press release, the Fort Bend Junior Service League will use the donation, and that of other partnering organizations, to further the community's fight against breast cancer. The Fort Bend Junior Service League is working with the American Cancer Society in an ongoing, collaborative effort to provide financial support for programs and services designed to improve quality of life, provide access to early detection and treatment and diminish suffering for Fort Bend County breast cancer patients.
