Fort Bend ISD ranked among top school districts

The Fort Bend Independent School District has been ranked among top school districts using the educational search tool netTrekker Search.

Fort Bend ISD was ranked fourth among the Top 100 overall school districts. The search tool is a search engine designed specifically for teachers and students to help maximize classroom lessons and make the best resources readily available.

According to a press release, the Digital Learning Awards Program honors school districts that are effectively using digital resources to transform their teaching and learning environments and have recognized the impact digital resources can have in creating engaging, differentiated learning experiences while promoting independent learning.

"We are proud to recognize the excellent school districts on the Top 100 list for their commitment to innovation in the classroom and for their work to create an environment that fosters engaging personalized learning experiences with digital tools and curriculum," said Randy Wilhelm, CEO of Knovation, in a press release. "We are honored to work with the leaders, teachers and students in these districts year after year to help transform learning for students across the country."

The number of educational searches performed using netTrekker Search during the 2011-2012 school year by the top 100 districts ranged from over 124,000 searches to 4 million searches, according to a press release.

"We are honored to once again be recognized in the netTrekker Search Digital Learning Awards program as one of the Top 100 school districts in the nation," said Karen Paulus, FBISD Library Media Services Coordinator, in a press release. "Our success in the awards program can be credited to our fine staff of librarians, who provide our students and staff with the necessary training and resources they need to be successful 21st Century learners."

With the award, the Fort Bend ISD is now featured on the Knovation website. In addition, it received a prize package which included netTrekker Search branded materials and free professional learning.
