Eight Sugar Land runners complete Marine Corps Marathon
Eight athletes from Sugar Land completed the Marine Corps Marathon on Oct. 28 in Arlington, Va.
The runners from Sugar Land and their finishing times were Richard Powell, 24, 2:39:57; Rahul Baijal, 37, 4:07:40; Andy Ralph, 45, 4:40:37; Eli Janik, 17, 4:44:18; Michael Fleming, 42, 4:58:49; Conor Joyce, 19, 5:16:58; Phiet Pham, 54, 5:45:01; and Nguyet Pham, 57, 7:06:19.
According to Marine Corps Marathon organizers, a total of 23,520 runners finished the 26.2-mile race.
Augustus Maiyo, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was the men's overall winner with a time of 2:20:20, while Hirut Guanqul, of Ellicott City, Md., was the winner in the women's category with a time of 2:42:03.
