Four Richmond runners complete Marine Corps Marathon
Four athletes from Richmond completed the Marine Corps Marathon on Oct. 28 in Arlington, Va.
The runners from Richmond and their finishing times were Gary Vilas, 49, 3:58:35; John Wells, 53, 5:26:38; Patty Crawford, 51, 5:36:40; and Kristin Harper, 44, 6:16:42.
According to Marine Corps Marathon organizers, a total of 23,520 runners finished the 26.2-mile race.
Augustus Maiyo, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was the men's overall winner with a time of 2:20:20, while Hirut Guanqul, of Ellicott City, Md., was the winner in the women's category with a time of 2:42:03.
