Fort Bend Chamber to host Judge Emmett at Government Relations Division luncheon
The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce will host Harris County Judge Ed Emmett at the Government Relations Division luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3.
Emmett graduated from Rice University in 1971, going on to obtain a masters degree in public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974. He served as a member of the Texas House of Representatives from 1979 to 1987, where he was chairman of the Committee on Energy, member of the Transportation Committee and a representative on numerous national committees related to energy and transportation policy. He became the Harris County Judge on March 6, 2007
In addition to serving as judge, Emmett is also the director of Harris County's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, chairman of the Houston-Galveston Area Council's Transportation Policy Council and chairman of the Harris County Juvenile Board.
Registration for the luncheon is $25 for members and $35 for non-members in advance. Tickets at the door cost $40.
The luncheon takes place at 445 Commerce Green Blvd., Sugar Land.
