Three Fort Bend ISD campuses recently hosted a delegation of 21 teachers and school administrators from Ningbo, China.

The delegation's visit was part of a study tour sponsored by the University of Houston's Hobby Center for Public Policies in conjunction with Global Unisource, Inc.

Visitors toured Dulles Middle School, Austin High School and Travis High School, met and had lunch with teachers, and viewed students in a learning environment, according to a press release.

School administrators and staff were on hand to answer questions from the delegation, including education policies and procedures, student achievement, testing and school operations.

Each school also held special presentations and pep rallies that included musical performances for the benefit of the visiting group.

The event was planned by FBISD administrators Susan Voradakis, acting director of curriculum; Sandra Harvey, world language coordinator; and Jamie Marshall, secondary science coordinator. They were assisted by David Guo and Carolyn Gus of the University of Houston Hobby Center for Public Policies.

"We enjoyed preparing for the visit and getting to know members of the delegations, while learning more about the school operations in Ningbo," Austin High School Principal Mary Ellen Edge said in the release.

Fort Bend Independent School District is located at 16431 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land.
