Lamar CISD students recognized as Hispanic Scholars
Three students from Lamar Consolidated Independent School District were recently selected as Hispanic Scholars by the National Hispanic Recognition Program.
According to a press release, the program honors Hispanic or Latino students based on critical reading, math and writing scores on the PSAT/NMSQT and achieving a minimum 3.0 grade point average. A list of the honorees is then sent to subscribing colleges and universities interested in academically successful seniors of Hispanic or Latino origin.
Seniors Victoria Contreras and Donovan Lemaster from Foster High School in Richmond, and senior Jacob Becerra from Terry High School in Rosenberg, were just three of the 5,000 students recognized.
