Quail Valley Garden Club celebrates 40 years of service
The Quail Valley Garden Club recently celebrated its 40th year of serving the Missouri City region.
According to a press release, members of the club shared birthday cake and memories from the past four decades, with Patsy Armbruster, the club's first president, presenting pictures and personal stories about the club's beginnings.
Since it began in 1972, the group has promoted knowledge of horticulture, civic beautification, natural resource conservation, and provided college scholarships to students pursuing continuing education in horticultural science, according to the release.
The club is affiliated with the National Council of Garden Clubs, Texas Garden Clubs and the Houston Federation of Garden Clubs and meets on the second Thursday of each month. It is open to anyone interested in gardening.
For meeting location and time information, call Janice Scanlan, membership chairman, at 281-261-2320; visit www.quailvalleyproud.com/org/gardenclub; or email Barbara Thompson, club president, at barbara_ann43@hotmail.com.
