Shutter-Up Blinds & Shutters earns spot on Aggie 100 list
Sugar Land-based Shutter-Up Blinds & Shutters has earned a spot on Texas A&M University's 2012 Aggie 100 list.
Now in its eighth year, the list recognizes the top 100 fastest-growing companies in the world that are owned or operated by former students of Texas A&M University.
According to a press release, Shutter-Up Blinds & Shutters, owned by 1984 graduate Mary Beth Bartkus, ranked 40 on the list after experiencing a compound annual growth rate of 49 percent from 2009 through 2011.
"Aggies have paved roads to success across industries and business sectors, as well as across generations," Richard H. Lester, executive director of the Mays Business School Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship, said in the release. "Aggie leaders have proven time and time again that even in tough economic times, solid business ideas, tenacity and hard work pay off."
A formal luncheon to honor the Aggie 100 was held Friday, Oct. 26 at the the Zone Club on the Texas A&M University campus, located at College Station.
