Hightower High School grad Igodan leads Texas Christian University to win
Yvonne Igodan, a graduate of Hightower High School, is a junior middle blocker on the Texas Christian University women's volleyball team.
Hightower High School graduate Yvonne Igodan had 17 kills Wednesday, Nov. 7, as Texas Christian University rolled to a 3-0 victory over Texas Tech University in women's college volleyball action.
Igodan, a junior middle blocker, also contributed four blocks and a .438 hitting percentage in the win.
The Horned Frogs won 32-30, 25-22 and 25-19 at United Spirit Arena in Lubbock. The team is now 14-10 on the season.
The next contest for Texas Christian University is at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, on the road against Kansas State.
Igodan is a 2010 graduate of Hightower High School, where she set the school record with 25 kills in a single match and led the team in kills during her senior season. She received first team All-District honors as a junior and senior and was named team MVP her senior year. Igodan is the daughter of Uche Igodan and is majoring in sports medicine.
