'The Conch Bearer' author visits Quail Valley Middle School

Author Chitra Divakaruni recently visited Quail Valley Middle School's sixth-grade class.

According to a press release, Divakaruni spoke about writing "The Conch Bearer," the class's summer reading book, and signed copies of the book. She also discussed her writing background, her Indian culture and how she develops her characters.

In addition to being an author of various children's and adult books, Divakaruni also teaches creative writing at the University of Houston.
