Sugar Land resident and Troop 721 Girl Scout Krisha Desai earned the Girl Scouts' Gold Award from the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council on Friday, Oct. 12.

Desai, a junior at Hightower High School and is the daughter of Sanjay and Sangita Desai, is a member of Girl Scout Troop 721's Rainbow Stars Service Unit.

Desai's Gold Award project included conducting a healthy living clinic project for refugees, in conjunction with the Refugee Week Health Fair to benefit Interfaith Ministries, according to a press release.

The Gold Award is the Girl Scouts' highest honor. Candidates for the award must complete a series of requirements, including two to three years of award achievements and more than 100 community service hours.
