Sugar Land's Desai earns Girl Scout Gold Award
Sugar Land resident and Troop 721 Girl Scout Krisha Desai earned the Girl Scouts' Gold Award from the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council on Friday, Oct. 12.
Desai, a junior at Hightower High School and is the daughter of Sanjay and Sangita Desai, is a member of Girl Scout Troop 721's Rainbow Stars Service Unit.
Desai's Gold Award project included conducting a healthy living clinic project for refugees, in conjunction with the Refugee Week Health Fair to benefit Interfaith Ministries, according to a press release.
The Gold Award is the Girl Scouts' highest honor. Candidates for the award must complete a series of requirements, including two to three years of award achievements and more than 100 community service hours.
