Local Boy Scout troop travels to Florida High Adventure Sea Base
Boy Scout Troop 1631, based in Fort Bend, had the opportunity to travel to the Florida High Adventure Sea Base in June.
While there, the troop went scuba diving and explored reefs and shipwrecks off Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Two experienced dive masters led the explorations.
Chartered by the Fort Bend Optimist Club in Sugar Land, Troop 1631 meets at 7 p.m. Mondays at Fort Settlement Middle School and is affiliated with the Sam Houston Area Council. Each summer the troop visits a high adventure destination; it also spends time exploring local destinations throughout the year.
Scouts who participated in the trip include Ed Gifford, Alan Davis, Kurt Brochu, George DeVassal, Matt Kabot, Kurt Tollestrup, Brad Smith, Tom Poole, Pat Bullard, Ryan Bullard, Patrick Lesley, Jack Lesley, Liam DeVassal, Alex Gifford, Alec Kabot, Chris Herzog, Kyle Tollestrup, Kyle Davis, Zac Smith, Bryan Poole, Dillon Kabot, Trey Gifford and Jason Brochu.
