Stephen F. Austin marching band, dance team makes Bands of America regionals
The Stephen F. Austin marching band and Angels dance team competed in the Music for All's Bands of America regional championship Saturday, Oct. 8 and advanced to the finals.
Held at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Conroe, the competition, judged by a panel of marching band experts and nationally recognized music educators, featured 27 high school marching bands from around Louisiana and Texas. The band and dance team from Stephen F. Austin was the only Fort Bend ISD team to advance to the finals.
The team is now working to fine tune its show, titled "Coming Into the Light." Members will then head to UIL competitions and the BOA super regional championship Saturday, Nov. 3 in San Antonio.
