Fort Bend ISD launches news blog
The Fort Bend Independent School District recently launched a news blog for parents, students and community members on the district website.
The blog, titled "The Pulse," provides a vehicle for district leaders to communicate important educational news and issues, according to a press release.
New blog articles are posted on the site weekly, and readers are encouraged to subscribe to it to receive email alerts when new information is put online.
Blog readers will also find event photos, videos, polls and other district news of interest.
Since the blog was initiated, several stories have appeared, including a back-to-school message from the acting superintendent, Mike McKie; an article on digital citizenship by Robert Calvert, chief information officer; the superintendent search process by Jim Rice, board president; an update on a pending lawsuit regarding education funding in Texas by Tracy Hoke, CFO; and news concerning bullying prevention and awareness by Bob Conlon, director of student support services.
Fort Bend ISD is located at 16431 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land.
