St. Laurence Catholic holds supply drive, celebrates grandparents
St. Laurence Catholic School celebrated grandparents day and hosted a school supply drive in September.
Grandparents Day was held Sept. 28. More than 750 people visited the church to celebrate the occasion with a mass led by Father Drew Wood.
After the mass, students from all grades performed, as well as the school's band and choir. At the end of the day, students took their grandparents on tours of the school.
The supply drive was hosted by the Spanish Honor Society of St. Laurence, in order to raise supplies for students in Guatemala who are served by the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. Many of the Guatemalan students are orphans and under the sisters' care.
In addition to the supplies the students raised money, which was given to Sister Francesca Kearns when she visited the school.
St. Laurence Catholic School is at 2630 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land.
