Fort Bend Independent School District students and employees recently paid tribute to the victims of 9/11 that resulted from the attacks against the U.S. on Sept. 11, 2001.
Johnny Sanchez, a senior at Bush High School, created a "You Are Not Forgotten" mural that features the names of the 9/11 victims and messages from Bush students, faculty and staff. It hangs in his school's Commons area, according to a school district press release.
Clements High School social studies and U.S. history students prepared a 9/11 Hall of Honor that includes student-designed posters and a U.S.-shaped photo collage honoring the men, women and families that were directly impacted by the 9/11 attacks.
Settlers Way Elementary School's annual celebration of Patriot Day included a tribute to first responders. Students and staff were also encouraged to wear patriotic colors of red, white and blue to commemorate the occasion.
