Missouri City child donates birthday gifts

Zachary Ruben of Missouri City celebrated his seventh birthday by donating all of his gifts to Armstrong Elementary School.

Ruben is a second grader at Scanlan Oaks Elementary School in Sienna Plantation and attends First United Methodist Church in Missouri City.

At his birthday party, Ruben collected five basketballs, eight soccer balls, 11 playground palls, 18 jump ropes, a hula hoop and a gift card for $25 that will be used for playground equipment.

Armstrong Elementary School is relatively new and serves many children in need. Ruben heard the school had no playground equipment and stepped up to collect items for his birthday to donate.
