Fort Bend Education Foundation hosts Back to School Scramble

The Fort Bend Education Foundation hosted its 13th annual Back to School Scramble golf tournament Aug. 27 at Sweetwater Country Club.
Organizers of the event, presented by Schlumberger and Sweetwater Country Club, reported that 264 golfers participated in the scramble, which netted more than $95,000 for the foundation, according to a press release.
The tournament low-gross champion team, which was honored at the tournament's awards banquet, included Mike Hudkins, Mark Melville, Mike Badillo and Josh Moore.
The event chairmen were Ron Bailey and Rod Nelson, and Chick-fil-A provided lunch.
The Fort Bend Education Foundation provides enrichment opportunities for all students of the Fort Bend Independent School District through the Grants for Teachers and Schools program.
Since its inception in 1992, the foundation has awarded more than $3.8 million to FBISD teachers and schools, according to the release.
