Billy Stritch to perform at First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church will host a performance by singer-pianist Billy Stritch at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 in its church sanctuary, located at 3900 Lexington Blvd. Stritch's performance is the opening date in a new concert series from the Friends of the Arts committee and First United Methodist, according to a press release. It is free and open to the public. A frequent collaborator with Liza Minnelli, Stritch arranged the music for her Broadway show "Liza's at the Palace," which won the 2009 Tony Award for best theatrical event.
