Sugar Land Girl Scout earns Gold Award

Girl Scout Audra Clark of Sugar Land recently earned the Girl Scouts Gold Award.   To earn the award, Clark, who has been a member of Girl Scouts for 12 years, led a team of volunteers in creating packets with post-accident information that included procedures to follow, questions to ask, information to gather from the other driver and more.   Additionally, Clark created a video with three teen accident victims sharing what they learned from their experience.   "I chose this project because of my older brother Greyson," Clark said in a press release. "He was in a car accident on the way to school, and although he had my mom's help, I realized that many teenagers don't know what to do after a car accident."   Clark will be a senior at George Ranch High School this fall, where she is a member of ASL Club, the Asian Club, the Cultures in Action Club, the National Honor Society, the NHS Marketing Committee and the varsity choir.   The Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can achieve, and less than 5 percent of girls who join Girl Scouts earn this recognition.
