Fire & Rescue Services to host open house
Missouri City's Fire and Rescue Services will hold its first open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at Station 1.
The event will feature a variety of activities, including a vehicle extrication presentation at 11 a.m., a simulated smoke house exhibit with lessons for family safety practice, fire extinguisher training for adults, firefighter skill drills for children, exit drills and tours of the firehouse facility and a fire truck.
"We are committed to providing fire protection and education programs to the community and our inaugural open house gives firefighters the unique opportunity to engage citizens one-on-one," Fire Chief Russell Sander said in a press release. "Everyone is invited to join us and have fun while learning life-saving safety tips."
All area residents are invited to attend the open house.
