Jim Rice Elected to Statewide Association Board
Texas Association of School Boards has elected Jim Rice to the Board of Directors.
Currently serving as president and secretary of his local board in the Fort Bend Independent School District, Rice was voted in to fill the interim 4G position.
According to a press release, Rice, the president of an engineering and construction management firm named Rice & Gardner Consultants, has been a resident of Sugar Land since 1981.
In addition to his his new position, Rice, who has three sons who are eagle scouts, is also an active member of the Boy Scouts of America and serves on the Sam Houston Area Council Board of Directors. He has also served on the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since 2005 and is in his second term as vice-chair of the Chamber's education division.
Rice is also the co-founder and past chair of the board of directors of Fort Bend Cares, a charitable foundation, serves on the board of directors for the Literacy Council of Fort Bend County, was a graduate of the Fort Bend Chamber's Leadership Forum Class in 2005 and was on the Fort Bend Regional P16 Council for a two-year term.
