Texana manager appointed to Governor's Council
Manual Lopez, manager of the Texana Learning Center in Rosenberg, has been appointed to the Governor's Rehabilitation Council of Texas.
The council partners with the Texas Department of Rehabilitation Services divisions of Rehabilitation Services and Blind Services to advocate for people with intellectual disabilities. It also oversees clients during the vocational rehabilitation process.
Members serve a three-year term, volunteering their time and efforts. The council meets quarterly to conduct information gathering and advocacy activities.
Texana Learning Center is a public, not for profit, organization that provides behavioral health care and developmental disabilities services. It serves residents of a six-county area, including Austin, Colorado, Fort Bend, Matagorda, Waller and Wharton counties.
Texana serves about 4,000 clients per month. It is one of the largest providers of home and community-based services in Texas, according to a press release.
Texana Learning Center is located at 4910 Airport Ave., in Rosenberg.
