Local Girl Scouts earn Silver Award
Girl Scouts Triona Swanson and Kalpana Vaidya from Troop 724 in Sugar Land recently received the Girl Scout Silver Award at a ceremony held at Bennihan in Fist Colony.
The award recognizes a Cadette Girl Scout's achievements in her troop and her involvement in the community. Scouts who earn this award are honored for their efforts to enrich their own lives as well as the lives of others.
To earn the Silver Award, a Girl Scout must build skills, explore careers, gain leadership skills, make a commitment to self-improvement and also complete 40 hours on a community service project.
Triona Swanson completed her project with the Fort Bend Rainbow Room. Kalpana Vaidya did her project with the United Cerebral Palsy of Houston.
