City of Rosenberg to host Fourth of July celebration

Rosenberg's annual Family 4th Independence Day Celebration will take place at 6 p.m. July 4 at Seabourne Creek Nature Park, located at 3831 Highway 36 S. in Rosenberg.

According to a press release, music at the event will be presented by the Gary-Michael Dahl Band after an introduction from Mayor Vincent Morales Jr. Vendors will be selling food and drinks, and there will be a number of activities for children including a rock wall, a bounce house, an obstacle course and free rides on a horse-pulled wagon. A new feature at this year's event will be a "rain" area for all ages.

The release also noted that an exhibit featuring Seabourne Creek Nature Park's habitats as well as the work of the Texas Master Naturalists Coastal Prairie Chapter will be set up in the R.W. Lindsey Gazebo.

Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m. and will be accompanied by patriotic music from the group Pyrotecnico.

Attendees may bring lawn chairs and blankets to the event, but pets, alcohol and tobacco will not be permitted. Parking will be available just south of the 3831 Highway 36 S. entrance. The Rosenberg Civic Center, located at 3825 Highway 36 S., will offer permit-only handicapped parking.

Seabourne Creek will be closed July 2-6 for the event, which will take place rain or shine.
