Missouri City's Citizens Police and Fire Academy gives citizens behind-the-scenes look
Missouri City's Citizens Police and Fire Academy will give interested residents a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges police officers and firefighters face from 7-10 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting April 2 and going for six weeks.
The six-week course will be held at the Missouri City Public Safety Headquarters, 3849 Cartwright Road, Missouri City. Participants will learn about criminal law, experience a staged SWAT operation, a live fire demonstration, use the firearms training simulator, search a building for an armed suspect and make a traffic stop at night.
Applications for the course are available at Public Safety Headquarters or at missouricitytx.gov. Once participants complete the six weeks, they will be eligible to join the Missouri City Police & Fire Auxiliary and/or the Citizens Response Team.
For more information, call Community Liaison Officer Dan Flagg at 281-403-8705 or go to missouricitytx.gov.
